A cat has survived a three-week ocean trip.

The cat from China - who is called Ni Hao, or Hello in English – went on a 6,500-mile voyage from China to California without food or water after getting trapped on a shipping boat, but Los Angeles animal control officials thought he was dead when they found him.

Aaron Reyes is quoted by Metro as saying: "He was curled up in a ball with his eyes shut… and he actually appeared deceased.

"He's gone from this shrivelled up little kitten with shallow breathing and knocking on death's door to this curious, playful, bouncy, affectionate, patient, little furry kitty."

Unbelievably, Ni Hao only suffers from a limp as the result of his traumatic journey.
