Monaghan are top of Division 3A of the Hurling League following their victory over Tyrone on Saturday, while Fingal and Louth were winners elsewhere in the division this afternoon.

At Healy Park, Monaghan claimed a 0-17 to 1-10 win over hosts Tyrone. The Red Hands led by 1-9 to 0-8 at half-time but amazingly only scored a point in the second half as Monaghan tagged on nine points to take the verdict.

Goals were key as Fingal secured a 2-15 to 0-15 victory over Sligo at Markievicz Park.

Fingal led by 2-9 to 0-3 at half-time, with full-forward Peter Daly netting both of their goals.

Sligo launched a strong comeback on the restart with free-taker Keith Raymond (0-9) very much to the fore.

However, Fingal's first half goals gave them a solid footing and they held out for a six-point success.

Louth were comfortable 4-24 to 0-12 winners over Donegal as the Wee County recorded their first win of the campaign at Darver.

Full-forward Brian Corcoran bagged 3-3 for Louth in a game which saw seven different players on target for the hosts, including Shane Fennell (0-8) and Diarmuid Murphy (0-6).

Louth led by 1-8 to 0-0 after 11 minutes, before Lee Henderson opened Donegal's account a minute later.

Pat Clancy's side led by 1-18 to 0-5 at the interval and failed to ease up on the restart, with Corcoran completing his hat-trick. Darren O'Hanrahan netted Louth's other goal.
