A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in Co Westmeath last night.

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in Co Westmeath last night.

The man was walking along the road at Cumminstown in Kilbeggan at around 8pm when he was knocked down by a passing car.

Gardaí are withholding his name until all next of kin are informed.
