An investigation is underway following the discovery of a skull in a ditch in a large field off the Swords road in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

An investigation is underway following the discovery of a skull in a ditch in a large field off the Swords road in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The field is being preserved pending the arrival of the State Pathologist, who will determine whether the skull is that of a human and if it is historic or more recent.

The discovery was made at around 4pm yesterday afternoon near Ravensdale farm in Swords by workmen.
