Overnight frost is forecast ahead of the seven-race card, which commences at 12.40pm, and clerk of the course Nick Patton is taking no risks.

“We are not unduly concerned as it stands and it is purely precautionary,” said Patton.

“The forecast suggests we could get down to zero degrees but there’s always the chance that it might go lower.

“That’s the reason for the inspection but we should be absolutely fine.”

The hurdles course at Market Rasen is currently good to soft, good in places, while the chase course is good to soft, soft in places.
