Brand to star in nun sitcom
Comic Jo Brand is to play a nun in a new ITV sitcom.
She will star in Sister Frances, which is set in a modern-day convent in Croydon.
Former Bond girl Honor Blackman plays the nuns’ Mother Superior while Brand’s character is the convent’s “voice of reason”.
Brand has co-written the show and a pilot episode will be screened later in the year. If it is a hit with viewers, the show will be made into a series.
Comedienne Morwenna Banks, partner of David Baddiel, and Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps actress Kathryn Drysdale also appear.
Brand recently sparked outrage among Albanians by offering to fart their national anthem during an EastEnders Christmas party special.
