Down unchanged for Armagh showdown

Down manager Ross Carr has kept faith with the team that dumped Tyrone out of the Ulster SFC for Sunday's semi-final encounter with Armagh (Clones, throw-in 4pm).

Carr, who is hoping to guide the Mourner men through to their first Ulster final since 2003, has been afforded the chance to name an unchanged line-up with Ambrose Roger's recovery from an ankle ligament injury.

Rogers sustained the injury during the extra-time win over Tyrone but some intensive treatment has gotten the centre-forward back close to full fitness.

With Martin Cole still suspended, Daniel McCarran retains his place at full-back following an impressive display last time out.

Sunday's game is the first Ulster championship clash between Down and Armagh for nine years.

Armagh have won the sides' last three championship ties, while Down are seeking their first victory over the Orchard county since 1992.

Down are chasing a place in the final for the first time since 2003 where they lost a replay to Tyrone. They last won the title in 1994.

DOWN (SFC v Armagh) - B McVeigh; L Howard, D McCarran, D Rafferty; A Carr, L Doyle, P Murphy; D Gordon, J Lynch; R Muztagh, A Rogers, D Hughes; J Clarke, B Coulter, R Sexton.
