Dupont has been handed the chance to take on fellow dual 2000 Guineas winner Rock Of Gibraltar at Royal Ascot next Tuesday.
The colt who has won the Italian and German 2000 Guineas this term was supplemented to the St James’s Palace Stakes, in which he is due to face the three-year-old who has won the equivalent Classics at Newmarket and the Curragh for Sir Alex Ferguson.
He was added to the field this morning by trainer William Haggas at a cost of £20,000 (€31,000), while Andre Fabre supplemented French 2000 Guineas third Bowman to the same race.
But no extra entry was received today for either the Queene Anne Stakes or the King’s Stand Stakes on Tuesday.
Riding plans have yet to be finalised for Dupont, as Richard Hannon may claim Darryll Holland.
‘‘Darryll Holland has not been confirmed as he may ride Redback,’’ Haggas said. ‘‘We will have to see how things evolve.
‘‘Dupont seems very well. I am not worried about the soft ground and I hope he runs a good race.’’
