Teahon yet to respond to McDowell report

Campus Chief Executive and Chairman, Paddy Teahon, has yet to respond to the Attorney General’s report on the handling of the contracts for the Aquatic Centre at Abbotstown.

Campus Chief Executive and Chairman, Paddy Teahon, has yet to respond to the Attorney General’s report on the handling of the contracts for the Aquatic Centre at Abbotstown.

Teahon had been given until noon today to do so. Attorney General, Michael McDowell, carried out an investigation into the handling of the contracts for the centre. Fine Gael says the latest confusion surrounding the publication of the report on Campus Stadium Ireland is a stalling tactic.

The Government was to release the Attorney General’s report as soon as all parties linked to the controversy had given their views on it. Fine Gael’s Charlie Flanagan says it is time the "veil of secrecy" is lifted.

Teahon is also due to appear before the Dail Public Accounts committee for the second time later today. Mr Teahon has yet to state his side of the story but he yesterday faced a grilling from the Public Accounts Inquiry.

Teahon said that he had made mistakes but he also stated he would not resign as that would suggest wrong doing.
