A major search has been launched for three divers reported missing off the coast of the North.

Update 7.10pm: Three divers reported missing off the coast of Country Antrim have been found "safe and well" in the sea, the Coastguard said.

Earlier: A major search has been launched for three divers reported missing off the coast of the North.

The divers went missing in the sea at Blackhead, near Whitehead, Co Antrim, shortly before 5.30pm.

An Irish Coastguard helicopter is involved in the search along with Coastguard rescue teams from Portmuck and Larne.

A number of merchant vessels are also helping with the search.
