Ireland's Eddie Jordan yesterday dismissed claims that sacking staff earlier in the week was a sign that there is a crisis for the Jordan racing team.
Jordan said he believed the cuts were fundamental and the Jordan team's financial difficulty was not isolated.
"People can call me a tough old boot if they like, but if it means Jordan stays in business to fight another day and to get back to the respectable position that we were in '98 and '99, fighting for races and championships, then that's fine," he insisted.
Meanwhile, champion driver Michael Schumacher topped the polls once again as preparations got under way for the Barcelona Gran Prix today.
