Fasylitator earned his fourth win in the last 11 months – for his third different trainer – when lifting the first division of the betdirect Freephone 0800 211 222 Handicap by a neck.
John Egan’s mount, who had previously scored when in the care of Jamie Osborne and Jim Boyle, powered up the straight under John Egan in the one-mile event to give trainer Dean Ivory a welcome winner.
Travelling well throughout, the 7-2 chance made the most of his opportunity when the well-backed 2-1 favourite Actuality went very wide off the final bend and lost ground, allowing Egan’s mount to slip up the inside.
He finished a neck in front with the pair pulling five lengths clear of All A Dream in a time just outside the track record.
“He is a lovely, versatile horse,” said Ivory. “He has won over a mile here, but he can get a mile and a quarter without any problem.
“It is just a case of going where the races are with him, but he needs a bit of cut in the ground and this surface is great.
“We don’t over-cook them at home and he’s not had a strict training regime. We like to run them – there is no point in killing them at home.
“It is a nice end to the year, they are running much better now. I think we must have had a bit of a bug a bit earlier, but things are now appear to be turning.”
