Ahern signs HIV aid agreement with Clinton

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, and former US President Bill Clinton have signed a joint agreement on fighting HIV and AIDS in developing countries.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, and former US President Bill Clinton have signed a joint agreement on fighting HIV and AIDS in developing countries.

Under the deal, the Government's aid budget for Mozambique will be funnelled through the William J Clinton Foundation.

The foundation is hoping to put pressure on drug providers to supply cheaper medicines to help the fight against HIV and AIDS, particularly in Africa.
