Bolton have confirmed French defender Gerald Cid has ended his short stint in England by completing a move to Nice.
The 24-year-old joined Wanderers from Bordeaux last summer and made seven Premier League appearances, with a further five in the UEFA Cup.
The centre-back underwent a medical with Nice on Friday and has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract.
The 24-year-old, who only joined Bolton last summer, is set to make his debut for his new club on Sunday against Nancy at the Stade du Ray.
“I am happy because I wanted to return to France in the transfer window,” Cid is quoted as saying.
“I didn’t play much in England but I discovered a new country, a new league and it is an important step for me.
“At Nice, I will not be lost. I already know Lilian Laslandes and Cyril Rool and that will allow me to integrate quicker.
“I can’t wait to make my return.”
