Police in Northern Ireland have arrested three men in connection with the murder of Matthew Burns and the attempted murder of his brother Patrick in Co Down last February.

Police in Northern Ireland have arrested three men in connection with the murder of Matthew Burns and the attempted murder of his brother Patrick in Co Down last February.

The victim, a 26-year-old father of one, was gunned down when the car in which he was travelling was ambushed yards from his mother’s home at the Burren Bridge Estate, outside Castlewellan on February 21.

His brother, who was driving the Toyota Camry car at the time of the attack, suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and arms.
