Tyrone include McKenna and McAliskey
Defender Ryan McKenna and forward Connor McAliskey has been brought into the Tyrone team for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Mayo at Croke Park (throw-in 3.30pm).
The young pair both made their Championship debuts earlier in the summer and manager Mickey Harte is backing them to deliver against the Connacht champions, with McAliskey replacing the suspended Martin Penrose in attack.
He joins Darren McCurry and captain Stephen O'Neill, who has been passed fully fit, in the full-forward line, beating out both Ronan O'Neill and Aidan Cassidy - two second half substitutes against Monaghan - to feature at top of the left.
Meanwhile, McKenna's inclusion at right corner back sees Dermot Carlin drop to the substitutes bench.
They are the only two changes Harte has made to the side that beat Ulster champions Monaghan in the last round. The experienced Joe McMahon has recovered from a groin strain to take his place at wing forward, although there is an expectation that he will be deployed in defence.
Harte is attempting to guide the Red Hands through to their fourth All-Ireland final in 11 seasons, something which seemed an unlikely aim after they were knocked out of the Ulster Championship by Donegal back in May.
"Within the group, we believe in what we're doing and we have been on a very tough journey. We're very pleased that we have managed to get through all these obstacle, varied as they were," admitted the Tyrone boss, whose side have beaten Offaly, Roscommon, Kildare, Meath and Monaghan along the way.
"So we're happy to have achieved that. Getting them to the last-four is a major achievement for us at this stage because we are in the process of rebuilding.
"There is very few of the original 2003 All-Ireland winnin team playing and starting our games. This is a really new team in many, many ways.
"It's important to be at the latter stages of the Championship to see what is required to get there and to be there and what is required when you are there. So it has been a good recovery from the defeat to Donegal."
