GAA: Cork management weigh up half-back options

There are several options open to the Cork management after half-back Sean Og O'hAilpin was ruled out following a car accident in Tipperary last night.

There are several options open to the Cork management after half-back Sean Og O'hAilpin was ruled out following a car accident in Tipperary last night.

O'hAilpin's Na Piarsaigh clubmate Mark Prendergast, Finbarr's Ronan Curran and Sarsfield's Pat Ryan are the main contenders to fill the gap.

Alternatively, Mark Landers could switch from midfield into the position with Pat Ryan coming in.

O'hAilpin was ruled out earlier this morning when it emerged that he was involved in a car collision at Whitefield, outside Templemore, last night.

Two cars were involved in the collision.

O'hAilpin was on his own and returning from a GAA press launch in Dublin yesterday. Gardai said both cars were badly damaged.

Sean Og's brother Aisake said the family was still unsure of how the accident happened. "We are worried but not too worried. He said that he is alright and that his injuries are only minor."

Investigating garda Patricia Grimes of Templemore garda station said today: "Naturally Sean Og was in shock, but he was still able to walk around".
