Coalition to review first year in Government

A review of the Coalition's first year in Government will be published by the Taoiseach and Tánaiste later today.

While a department-by-department breakdown of goals achieved and missed will be unveiled, the Taoiseach Enda Kenny's promised 'report cards' into Ministers will not be revealed.

From the day he entered office just under a year ago, Mr Kenny had promised to keep on top of Ministers' performances.

However, in a TV interview he declared he would have report cards for each of them.

That was just a figure of speech, said his spokesman, adding that Mr Kenny has delivered his assessment of each of them face-to-face in a series of bilateral meetings in recent weeks.

Mr Kenny has also declared he is happy with the performance of all Ministers and won't be sacking any of them at this stage.

Today's review will outline what targets have been met and what ones have not in a department-by-department breakdown.

It will also spell out the targets for each Minister for the next twelve months of the Coalition.
