In Dublin this morning, the Ulster Unionist Party leader, David Trimble, meets the Taoiseach before he returns north to attend a meeting of his party's executive in Belfast this afternoon.

The SDLP leader, Mark Durkan, has appealed to both governments to start talks as soon as the dust has settled over the dramatic events of this week to avoid a political vacuum developing.

Meanwhile, a fourth man is expected in court this morning charged with possession of information likely to be of use to terrorists after raids a week ago on homes in north and west Belfast.
