Dubs' Championship opener switched to Croke Park
The Leinster Council have decided to move Dublin's Leinster SHC quarter-final against Offaly from its original venue of Parnell Park to Croke Park.
With a greater demand for tickets following Dublin's historic Allianz Hurling League success, the clash with Offaly on Sunday, May 29 (throw-in 2pm) will now take place at GAA headquarters.
It will be a fourth outing at the stadium for Anthony Daly's men this year. They played Tipperary and Kilkenny there during the Division 1 campaign and faced the Cats for a second time in last Sunday's league decider.
Up to 42,030 spectators watched Dublin become Division 1 champions for the first time since 1939.
Parnell Park can only cater for an attendance of 9,500, so Dublin County Board chairman Andy Kettle was quickly on the case in calling for the Championship game to be moved to Croke Park.
Meanwhile, the Kilkenny County Board have decided to accept the suspensions handed down to John Dalton and Eoin Larkin which arose from incidents in the final defeat to Dublin.
Dalton, who is banned for eight weeks, will miss the Cats' Leinster semi-final against either Antrim, Laois or Wexford on June 11.
Larkin will be available for that game. He received a four-week suspension for striking Dublin's Conor McCormack in an off-the-ball incident that earned him a straight red card.
