A heartbroken mother has made an emotional appeal for information on the whereabouts of her teenage son, who went missing in Limerick nearly a week ago.
Gerard McNamara (aged 19), has not been seen since he disappeared from the Clare Street area of Limerick last Friday - the date of his late father's birthday.
His distraught mother, Bernadette, said today that she has no idea what happened her son.
"I am walking the streets every night looking for him. My nerves are shot to pieces now and I don't know what to do. I just want to hold my son again. Gerard's dad died a year and a half ago and Gerard went missing on the day of his father's birthday. He has not been right since his father died," said Mrs McNamara.
There was one reported sighting of the young trainee carpenter in the vicinity of the Omniplex Cinema in Dooradoyle, but his mother searched the area and did not locate her son.
Gerard, who is described as 5ft 6in in height, is slightly built with blue eyes and a shaven head.
When last seen, he was wearing a blue tracksuit with a white stripe on the legs. "I just want him home again. Al I want is to have my son back," said Mrs McNamara.
Anyone with information on Gerard's whereabouts is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station at 061 212400.
