China’s Foreign Ministry today accused US President George W Bush of violating commitments to China by making a blunt warning about America’s will to defend Taiwan.

China’s Foreign Ministry today accused US President George W. Bush of violating commitments to China by making a blunt warning that America’s will defend Taiwan.

Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue expressed "serious concern" over what she called Bush’s "extremely mistaken position".

She said the United States was violating its commitments to China and repeated demands for Washington to stop what she called interference in China’s internal affairs.

Zhang called Taiwan the most sensitive issue in China-US relations.
