Snow threatens filming on 'Emmerdale'

'Emmerdale' filming has been thrown into chaos because of the unseasonal weather.

The ITV soap's Leeds set has been covered in heavy snow - which threatens to delay filming as their schedule sees scenes shot six weeks in advance, meaning the cast are left shivering as they try to make it look like warmer May.

A source said: "Emmerdale has been badly hit by snow and the cast are freezing. They are wearing big padded coats between takes.

"Some outdoor scenes will be cancelled if it doesn't clear up."

And 'Emmerdale' isn't the only soap affected, with the 'Coronation Street' crew working hard to ensure their cast members are kept warm between scenes.

The source told The Sun newspaper: "'Coronation Street' has managed to avoid most of the snow but the cast are still having to cover up while filming summer scenes. Hand warmers and hot drinks are being passed around to keep everyone toasty."

'EastEnders' bosses were relieved snow had melted before filming began yesterday and are hoping it stays away for good now, though they are still having to supply the cast with hot water bottles and extra hot drinks.

A show source said: "It's incredibly cold for this time of year but we're soldiering on and hopefully we won't get delayed.

"Fingers crossed we have seen the last of the snow."
