Sheridan snubs dog food meal

Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan refused to eat dog food on Thursday, despite being at an event promoting Dine With Your Dog Day.

Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan refused to eat dog food on Thursday, despite being at an event promoting Dine With Your Dog Day.

The actress wasn't the only person who turned down the opportunity - fellow dog lover The Exorcist star Linda Blair also refused, because she is a vegetarian.

Sheridan said: "This is not (US TV show) Fear Factor."

The pair were at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel event in Los Angeles, two days ahead of today's Dine With Your Dog Day.

However, others including Little House on the Prairie actress Melissa Gilbert did eat pooch food.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has teamed up with actor Dick Van Patten's dog food company Natural Balance to create Dine With Your Dog Day in the hope of showing animal lovers how delicious pet chow can be.
