The Peace and Neutrality Alliance (PANA) is due to hold a vigil outside the US Embassy in Dublin on Saturday to mark the first anniversary of the US/British invasion of Iraq.

The anti-war group said 10,000 innocent civilians were killed during the invasion and those who died needlessly, including US soldiers, deserved to be remembered.

It said it would also use the vigil to highlight its opposition to the forthcoming visit to Ireland by US President George W Bush.
