Two arrested after Tipperary shooting

A man in his 30s is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, early this morning.

A man in his 30s is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, early this morning.

The incident happened shortly after midnight in the New Quay car park near Gashouse Bridge.

The victim was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital and then transferred to Waterford Regional Hospital, where he is understood to be in a stable condition.

Gardaí later arrested a man and woman in their early 30s at separate locations in Clonmel.

The scene has also been cordoned off for technical examination and any witnesses are being urged to come forward.
