Palace wait on Andrews

Crystal Palace are hopeful striker Wayne Andrews will have shrugged off a flu bug in time to travel with the squad for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash at Manchester United.

Crystal Palace are hopeful striker Wayne Andrews will have shrugged off a flu bug in time to travel with the squad for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash at Manchester United.

Andrews, a deadline-day signing from Colchester, looked lively when he came off the bench to make his Eagles debut during the second half against Blackburn last week, but did not feature for the reserves against Arsenal on Monday night.

Uruguayan defender Gonzalo Sorondo came through his run-out for the second string unscathed and is likely to be in the squad following a lengthy absence with a hamstring injury.

Tommy Black, however, is set for several weeks on the sidelines after breaking his leg during a reserve game against the Gunners.

Team (from): Kiraly, Speroni, Boyce, Hall, Popovic, Granville, Leigertwood, Sorondo, Routledge, Torghelle, Riihilahti, Andrews, Watson, Hughes, Kolkka, Lakis, Johnson.
