Colombia’s Camilo Villegas claimed the first round lead at the Deutsche Bank Championship with an eight-under-par 63.
Villegas carded eight birdies in a flawless round to lead by two shots from former Masters champion Mike Weir and American Ryan Moore.
Sweden’s Henrik Stenson was among a group of players a shot further back with Spain’s Sergio Garcia on four under after a 67.
England’s Brian Davis recorded a 68 with Justin Rose back on level par and Luke Donald struggling to a 72, one over.
World number one Tiger Woods and Open champion Padraig Harrington were also one over.
