A Cork-based company has announced €3.1m in new business in Canada this year.

The announcement was made during a trade mission on which the company, Lincor Solutions, was accompanied Enterprise Minister, Richard Bruton.

Thirty Irish businesses travelled to Canada with the Minister on the three-day trip.

The aim of the trade mission was to cement links and open new doors for increased export business.

Welcoming Lincor’s announcement Minister Bruton said: “Lincor is a great example of an innovative, export-focused Irish company with a world-class product, and their success clearly demonstrates the potential that exists for Irish companies in Canada and North America.

“Through this week’s trade mission and other supports which my Department and Enterprise Ireland provide, I am determined to ensure that we can build on successes like this to create the export-based growth and jobs we need.”

Speaking about the new Canadian business, Lincor Solutions CEO Richard Cooke commented: “Canada has always been a good market for Lincor and 2012 in particular has been rewarding with over CAD $4m in new business signed.

“We are also particularly pleased that hospitals in Quebec and Newfoundland are the latest to recognise that it is possible to improve the patient experience while improving efficiencies. I look forward to bringing this message to even more Canadian hospitals in 2013.”
