Former England and Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor has admitted that Shay Given's days at Villa Park appear to be numbered.
Ireland's most-capped international has struggled to break into the Aston Villa starting team this season, despite the club slipping into the relegation zone after a run of miserable form over the Christmas period.
The Donegal man has had to make do with playing in goal during Villa's cup appearances, which has prompted him to consider coming out of international retirement.
Taylor admits that not playing regularly will not satisfy a player of Given's reputation.
Taylor said: "You would think he would be unhappy at being left on the bench.
"When you are Shay's age it is difficult, he will be more than disappointed at the fact that he is not playing."
