There was a 16.77-point increase in the ISEQ to 6293.43 this morning.
Bank of Ireland led the financials as the only one of them to see a rise in share value, up 11c to €12.72. AIB was down 7c to €17 while Anglo Irish Bank fell a cent to €9.67. Irish Life and Permanent was down 5c to €13.65.
Elan saw its share value rise 23c to €5.70 today.
McInerney Holdings, who this week announced new structures and development plans in the UK, saw a rise of 8c to €8.48 today.
Meanwhile, Ryanair was up 5c to €6.70. The airline said today it welcomed the latest market share results, which showed Ryanair "is the No 1 choice for passengers travelling in Ireland/UK".
