Peslier handed Harbinger ride

Olivier Peslier has been confirmed as the rider of Harbinger in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week.

Michael Stoute has the two main contenders for the midsummer feature but stable jockey Ryan Moore has elected to partner the Investec Derby winner Workforce.

This has left the trainer and owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing searching for a jockey for four-year-old Harbinger, who has been successful in all of his three starts this season including the Hardwicke Stakes at the Royal meeting last month.

“We are thrilled that Olivier will be riding Harbinger. He is a world class jockey and we have enjoyed a number of successes over the years, including Delilah in the Princess Royal Stakes at Ascot,” the syndicate’s managing director Harry Herbert told www.highclere.co.uk.

“He will ride Harbinger in a piece of work this weekend and hopefully we are now all set for the big race on July 24.”
