The Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar has promised to bring home any Irish trainee pilots who are stranded in Florida, after their flight training was controversially cancelled.

The Irish Examiner's Claire O'Sullivan revealed this week that around 80 students stood to lose up to €80,000 each in fees after their courses were cancelled by the Florida Institute of Technology due to a financial dispute with the Pilot Training College in Waterford.

Minister Varadkar said his department was also trying to find places in other colleges, so the pilots could complete their training.
