Top British sprinters Mark Lewis-Francis and Darren Campbell will get a first glance at their possible American Olympic rivals in Philadelphia this weekend.
The pair are in the British 4x100 metres relay team competing at the world famous Penn Relays, which also features the annual Verizon match between the USA and the World.
The race is being billed as a clash of the first two countries to cross the finishing line at last summer's World Championships – although the subsequent disqualification of Dwain Chambers meant the British quartet lost their Paris silver.
Also participating will be sides from Canada, Jamaica, Germany, the Bahamas, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
Justin Gatlin, who two months ago was replaced as world indoor champion by Jason Gardener, is expected to start for Team USA.
Also in contention for a place in the side is JJ Johnson, who inched past Chambers almost on the finishing line when running the anchor leg in last August's World Championship encounter.
