Nacho Novo has signed a four year deal with Rangers, making him Alex McLeish’s sixth signing of the summer.
Dundee eventually accepted an improved £450,000 (€673,000) offer from the Ibrox side for the Spanish striker yesterday, paving the way for his departure from Dens Park.
Novo was unveiled at Rangers’ Murray Park training complex today and the move finally ends the saga over which half of the Old Firm he would be playing for next season.
Novo had looked certain to sign for Scottish champions Celtic after they tabled a £500,000 (€748,000) bid last week and the player spent several hours locked in talks with Parkhead chiefs.
But his heart seemed set on a move to Rangers and Celtic withdrew their offer just 24 hours later.
The Ibrox side had seen their initial £350,000 (€523,000) bid rejected by Dundee and Novo was left with an anxious wait to find out if they would make another move.
He revealed earlier today that he has been a Rangers supporter since boyhood - despite growing up in Spain – and his dream move was completed after he came through a medical and agreed personal terms.
