Jockey Club officials were unable to confirm a newspaper report that a well-known Flat jockey has failed a drugs test.

However, public relations director John Maxse did concede that "it looks as if there will be a disciplinary hearing into another positive dope test from a rider."

Only last month Smurfit Champion Hurdle-winning jockey Dean Gallagher was handed an 18-month suspension after testing positive for cocaine.

Maxse added: "When the details are known as to if and when a hearing will take place, then I will be in a position to confirm the individual involved and the substance in question."
