Aston Villa boss David O’Leary has returned to former club Leeds to sign Roy Aitken as his new assistant manager.

Aston Villa boss David O’Leary has returned to former club Leeds to sign Roy Aitken as his new assistant manager.

Aitken becomes the third member of Leeds’ backroom team to link up with O’Leary following the Irishman’s appointment at Villa in late May.

The former Aberdeen manager, who was reserve-team coach with Leeds, again links up with chief scout Ian Broomfield and fitness specialist Steve McGregor, who has also moved to Villa Park today.
