Lachey and Minnillo in no hurry for kids

Vanessa Minnillo says she and Nick Lachey are in no hurry to have children.

Vanessa Minnillo says she and Nick Lachey are in no hurry to have children.

The TV presenter and the singer got engaged last year and while they are busy preparing for their forthcoming nuptials, Vanessa insists they won’t be rushing to start a family because having kids is such a huge responsibility.

When asked about having children, Vanessa replied: "Let's do it one chapter at a time, why rush? We have the rest of our lives. If you have children, once they're there, they're there. You can't say, 'I don't think I want to deal with you today.' No, they're there!"

While she is excited about her wedding to Jessica Simpson's ex Lachey, Minnillo admits she hasn’t done much planning but knows she won’t let her fiance have too much of a say on their big day because he would want it sports-related.

During an appearance on ‘The Rachael Ray Show’, the 30-year-old beauty said: "I always feel irresponsible, like I'm unprepared for my test at school. We have nothing yet, except for the wedding planner.

"If I let Nick plan the wedding it'll be around some sporting event. We'll have a big old tailgate party with Miller Light! We'll have University of Cincinnati Bearcats running around!"
