Irish Times buys property site MyHome.ie

The Irish Times has bought the leading property website MyHome.ie.

The Irish Times has bought the leading property website MyHome.ie for a total consideration (including deferred consideration payable over a five-year period) of up to €50m.

The site was financed in 2001 by a group of estate agents, with AIB bank as another shareholder.

More than 850 estate agents use the portal to advertise properties for sale or to let.

The proposed sale to the Irish Times is subject to approval by the Competition Authority.

MyHome.ie founding chief executive Jim Miley will continue to manage the business.
