Eamonn Boland/Anthony Nestor in their NVD Subaru were the top Irish crew in the Ypres Rally.

It was a disappointing third and final leg for Ian Greer/Dean Beckett. Lying third with a few stages remaining, their Taranto de Pol Toyota Corolla went off the road and the damage caused meant instant retirement.

Elsewhere, Dick Curran in a Mitsubishi was 14th and John O'Leary (Subaru) was 37th. The rally was won by Peter Tsjoen (Toyota Corolla) from the Peugeot 206 WRC of Gregoire de Mevius.

The margin between the top two was two minutes and 40.55 seconds.

Manor Motorsport driver, Richard Antinucci won the fifth round of the Formula Renault Championship at Donington Park. Cork's Matt Griffin, despite being off the circuit for some seven seconds, finished seventh while Robbie Coleman finished in eleventh position.

Declan Swanton was fourth fastest in the first qualifying session for the latest round of the British Superstock Junior Championship at Thruxton. The race starts at 4. 00 p.m.
