British Prime Minister Tony Blair is to join Bob Geldof for a G8 question and answer session to be broadcast on music network MTV.
The programme will be shown on Friday night, just five days before the G8 summit begins at Gleneagles.
Mr Blair will be quizzed by stars Destiny’s Child and Kanye West, as well as a studio audience of youngsters from 24 countries around the world, including nine African countries.
The station said the show had a potential worldwide audience of one billion viewers.
The programme will be called “All Eyes on Tony Blair” and will be hosted by youth presenter Trevor Nelson. It will focus on Mr Blair’s twin summit priorities of Africa and climate change.
Mr Blair last appeared on the network in 2003 when he took questions on the war in Iraq.
