ISEQ dips in morning trading

The ISEQ-index of Irish shares took a slight dip this morning dropping 67.30 points to 6956.83 by 11.15am.

The ISEQ-index of Irish shares took a slight dip this morning dropping 67.30 points to 6956.83 by 11.15am.

In the construction sector and leading the descent was CRH falling 38c to €24.16. Kingspan did slightly better slipping 16c to €14.39. McInerney, however remained static at €1.28.

Also lagging behind, the banking sector wallowed in negative territory with Anglo Irish Bank down 2c to €9. AIB followed suit dropping 2c to €14.36. Irish Life and Permanent had the biggest drop plummeting 60c to €13.80. Bank of Ireland bucked the negative trend and gained 2c to €9.85.

Elsewhere, there was some positive news within the food sector with Kerry Group jumping 32c to €20.88.
