Stagg: Wallace could face Garda probe

The Deputy Government Whip has said that Mick Wallace could face a Garda probe if a "good citizen" were to make a complaint against him.

The Wexford TD has today been formally named and shamed in the latest revenue defaulters list, which contains details of MJ Wallace Ltd's €2.1 million settlement for underpayment of VAT.

He had been expected to face a motion of censure in the Dáil today however that has now been put on hold pending the outcome of a meeting of the Dail committee on members interests tomorrow.

But the Taoiseach Enda Kenny said that the Government "stands ready" to facilitate a motion of censure in Mick Wallace.

In any event Deputy Government Whip Emmet Stagg says such a motion could be the least of Mick Wallace's worries.
