Gardaí in Dublin have arrested six people following the seizure of more than 8,000 litres of chemicals used in the manufacture of ecstasy and amphetamines.
The chemicals were found during a raid on a warehouse in the Walkinstown area of the city yesterday.
The raid was conducted as part of a joint operation between the gardaí, Customs and the Dutch police.
Those in custody are from China, Afghanistan and Macau.
Gardaí said the chemicals seized had the potential to make more than 50 million ecstasy tablets worth €500m and two and a half tonnes of amphetamines worth €30m.
