Godfather of Soul James Brown is being sued for a million dollars by his daughters who claim they co-wrote 25 of his songs when they were children.

Godfather of Soul James Brown is being sued for a million dollars by his daughters who claim they co-wrote 25 of his songs when they were children.

Deanna Brown Thomas and Dr Yamma Brown Luma say the controversial singer has withheld royalties because of a family grudge.

Even though they were children when the songs were written – three and six when Get Up Offa That Thing was a hit in 1976 – Brown’s daughters helped write them, said their Atlanta lawyer, Gregory Reed.
