Peter Gustafsson produced a spectacular outward half of 31 – the best of the week – to draw level with fellow Swede Peter Hanson in the final round of the Jazztel Spanish Open at San Roque today.
Gustafsson, winner of the European tour’s qualifying school on the course last November, had five birdies and a bogey in the first seven holes, then missed a nine-foot eagle chance on the 491-yard ninth.
Hanson had resumed seven under par, two ahead of South African Hennie Otto, but mixed two bogeys with two birdies in the opening five-hole stretch.
Otto remained five under, while a six under 66 lifted Wales’ Stephen Dodd from 31st to fourth on three under.
