In-form Declan O'Brien scored early and late as Drogheda moved to within three points of league leaders Shelbourne.

Neale Fenn missed Cork's best chance on 23 minutes when firing wide after John O'Flynn's shot was parried by Gary Rogers.

Drogehda upped the tempo as the half wore on and were rewarded on 45 minutes when O'Brien chipped Cork keeper Michael Devine to give them the lead.

The killer second goal didn't come until two minutes from time when O’Brien shot home having been played through by new signing Tony Bird.
