Latino pop star Ricky Martin's quest to end child poverty has reached a new height - he has adopted three street children in notorious Indian city Calcutta.
The She Bangs singer, who was recently hailed by the US government for his devotion to fighting child slavery, came to the poor children's rescue when his tour stopped in India and he found them refuge at a local orphanage.
He says: "I loved Calcutta, it was really beautiful. I started working with an orphanage and I had the opportunity to rescue three girls from the streets."
