The wife and son of former footballer Ian Wright are recovering after thieves stole the star's £70,000 Porsche.
Deborah Wright, 33, left the car on a filling station forecourt in Purley, south London, while she paid for petrol.
She then saw the thieves pulling their seven-year-old son Stacey from the car before driving off.
The former Arsenal and England striker told a British newspaper: "I'm still shaking from a mixture of anger and sheer terror.
"She went to pay for petrol and saw them pulling Stacey out of the car." Wright said he drove another car from the studios where he was working to pick up his stranded family.
Police later found the blue Porsche 911 convertible nearby.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Police were called at 6.45pm to reports of the theft of a vehicle. The car was later recovered nearby."
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and is in custody at Croydon police station.
