SIPTU members at Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Galway and Knock airports have voted to escalate the union's actions in support of striking CityJet Handling workers in Dublin.

The workers have been on strike for more than two months in pursuit of union recognition and improved pay and conditions.

CityJet has refused to enter talks with SIPTU in an effort to resolve the dispute.

Today, the union's airport workers voted by six to one to serve notice of industrial action on various companies operating in Irish airports.

The action could start on October 31.

SIPTU workers have been involved in an ongoing campaign of disruption against CityJet services in solidarity with their striking colleagues.
